Play & Learn: An Application for English Language Learning

Abstract


This article proposes ‘Play & Learn’ designed to learn and/or consolidate the English language through gameplay. It falls within the domain of serious games and it considers the design model scheme composed of academic requirement, educational settings, sociocultural theory, gamification, usability (Kashif et al. 2022). It was tested on thirty people and it scored a SUS rating of 68.69, which can be considered good, given its prototypical state.

 

L’articolo propone ‘Play & Learn’, applicazione progettata per apprendere e/o consolidare la lingua
inglese attraverso il gioco. Essa rientra nel dominio dei serious game e si sviluppa contemplando il seguente schema: academic requirement, educational settings, sociocultural theory, gamification, usability (Kashif et al. 2022). Play & Learn è stato testato su trenta persone ed ha registrato un punteggio SUS di 68.69, ritenuto buono, considerando il suo stato prototipale.
