The study provides a comparative analysis of the right to health and national healthcare systems, focusing on their historical evolution, institutional structure, and governance models. Starting with an overview of the Welfare State and its main interpretations, the text examines healthcare systems across several OECD countries, with particular focus on the UK (Beveridge model), Germany (Bismarck model), the United States (market-based model with selective public programs), and Italy (National Health Service). The analysis highlights the differences among universalist, mutualistic, and market-oriented approaches, addressing current challenges related to equity, financial sustainability, and quality of care.
