The essay examines the phenomenon of theatrical Latinization through the study of two Renaissance comedies: La Grisellis by Eligius Eucharius and La Lena by Juan Pérez Petreyo. Both works, derived from vernacular models, were adapted into Latin for university contexts and share several features: the didactic role of the authors, a Latin lexicon calibrated to moralizing and pedagogical registers, and the use of theatrical devices aimed at engaging the largest possible number of students. The cases analyzed form part of a broader phenomenon of educational theatrical Latinizations, providing comparative insights for the study of analogous contemporary texts across different geographical areas.
