The essay examines active ageing within the framework of European Union law, focusing on public policies and regulatory instruments supporting its implementation. The Silver Economy is considered as the set of economic and social activities related to the older population, in connection with welfare models, services and public investment. The analysis explores the relationship between longevity, economic planning and demographic transformations, including the impact of migration flows on population composition. It further examines the role of this economy in shaping regulatory models consistent with the principles of the social market economy and with the evolution of European social citizenship.
