Sulle prime traduzioni spagnole dell'Arcadia
Keywords:
Arcadia, Jacopo Sannazaro, translation, SpainAbstract
Jacopo Sannazzaro’s Arcadia had a profound influence on Sixteenth-century Spanish literature. Numerous were its ‘rewritings’ including, among the best known, the one realized by Garcilaso de la Vega in his Écloga II and Jorge de Montemayor’s Diana. With a view to a greater understanding of this phenomenon, we intend to propose a survey of the translations made in sixteenth-century Spain with particular attention to the specimens in which they are preserved and the paratextual elements of which they are carriers.
