Abstract

The paper examines the new insurance policies related to sustainable mobility, highlighting how insurance companies can play an undeniable social role due to their ability to reduce environmental impact, counter climate change, and promote sustainability. Indeed, they can neutralize and manage hitherto unprecedented risks, such as those arising from the overheating of lithium batteries or digital automation, which could otherwise discourage the adoption of new smart mobility technologies. It highlights how companies – through insurance solutions for both the retail and corporate segments – are contributing to sustainability, not only by absorbing and redistributing the risks associated with motor vehicle pollution, but also because their investments can direct capital flows toward eco-friendly projects and objectives.
