Excerpta manoscritti dalle commedie di Aristofane: per una prima recensio

Abstract

The aim of this paper is a first recensio of all the manuscripts containing ex-cerpts from the comedies by Aristophanes. In 1906, J.W. White listed all the Aristophanic manuscripts, including fourteen manuscripts containing ex-cerpts. This paper reconsiders White’s list substantially. It singles out only nine manuscripts which actually preserve Aristophanic excerpts and gives a thorough analysis of them. The paper is concluded by an appendix which takes into consideration Aristophanic disiecta membra in the so-called «ma-noscritti fattizi».
