Abstract

Noctuidae (Lepidoptera, Heterocera) OF SOUTHERN ITALY (ADDENDA)

(Contributions to the knowledge of Lepidoptera in Southern Italy: XII)

This paper revises the species list of the Noctuidae occurring in Southern Italy (PARENZAN, 1979). It reports new data on certain species which had been sporadically found in the past, and confìrms the presence in Southern Italy of some taxa which had already been reported, but without detailed data.

40 new species from Southern Italy are recorded, 3 of which: Noctua tirrenica Bieb., Amphipyra berbera Rgs. and Mesapamea secalella Remm, had not previously been found in Italy.

Consequently, at present the species list of Noctuidae from Southern Italy is composed of 459 taxa, including: a) 398 species known up to 1979; b) 3 recent new descriptions (PARENZAN, 1980; 1981; 1982 a); c) 8 preceding records of the author himself (PARENZAN, 1982 a; 1982 b) ; d) 10 recent records of other authors (MARINI & Russo, 1980; MAFFEI, 1981); e) the 40 new records reported here.

La presente nota contiene un aggiornamento dell'elenco dei Nottuidi presenti nell'Italia meridionale (PARENZAN, 1979). Vengono forniti nuovi dati su specie reperite in passato raramente, e viene confermata la presenza di entità già segnalate senza precise indicazioni.

Sono citate per la prima volta per l'Italia meridionale 40 specie, fra cui tre: Noctua tirrenica Bieb., Amphipyra berbera Rgs. e Mesapamea secalella Remm, risultano nuove per l'Italia.

Di queste tre specie, di Apamea sicula Trti. e delle rispettive specie gemelle (N. fimbriata Schreb., A. pyramidea L., M. secalis L. e A. monoglypha Hfn.) vengono illustrati gli adulti e gli apparati genitali maschili e femminili .

Pertanto, allo stato attuale, la fauna di Noctuidae dell'Italia meridionale risulta composta da 459 specie.
