Revisione degli Agathidium di Nord Africa e Isole Canarie (Coleoptera, Leiodidae)

Abstract

REVISION OF Agathidium OF NORTH AFRICA AND CANARY ISLANDS (Coleoptera, Leiodidae)

A revision of the species of North continental Africa and Canaries is presented as an attempt to solve several taxonomic difficulties about Agathidium from these regions.

Type specimens of 19 species and specimens determined by HLISNIKOVSKY himself of A. vodickai Hlisn. and A. laevigatum meridianum Hlisn. have been examined.

Neotype of A. integricolle Woll. and A. edoughense Port., and lectotype of A. leprieuri Bris., A. pueli Chob. and A. algiricum Bris., are designateci.

New descriptions: A. gomerense n. sp., A. bertii n. sp., A. leonardii n. sp..

At present 16 species from North continental Africa are known, of which 13 occur only in this region, while 3 of them belong also to the European fauna. As in Southern Europe and Turkey, most species belong to the subg. Agathidium s. str.

In Canaries, 7 endemie Agathidium - of subg. Neoceble - are known, together with l very widespread species, A. (s. str.) laevigatum.

Vengono trattate le 23 specie di Agathidium del Nord Africa continentale (Marocco, Algeria e Tunisia) e delle Isole Canarie note fino ad oggi, fra cui tre specie nuove, A. gomerense n. sp., A. berti n. sp. e A. leonardii n. sp..

Vengono designati:
- il Neotypus di A. integricolle Woll. e A. edoughense Port.
- il Lectotypus di A. leprieuri Bris., A. pueli Chob. e A. algiricum Bris. Complessivamente, del Nord Africa continentale si conoscono 16 specie, di cui 13 sono proprie di questo areale geografico. Delle Isole Canarie sono note 8 specie, di cui 7 appar- tenenti al subg. Neoceble ed endemiche.
