Prove di controllo microbiologico della Processionaria del pino (Thaumetopoea pityocampa Schiff., Lepid. Thaumetopoeidae) nelle pinete in Puglia

Abstract

MICROBIAL CONTROL OF Thaumetopoea pityocampa SCHIFF. (LEPID.: Thaumetopoeidae) IN THE PINE-WOODS OF APULIA

During 1979 and 1982 experiments were carried out by using microorganisms against first instars of Thaumetopoea pityocampa in Pulicchie woods of Apulia.

In 1979 the Thuricide HP (Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki ser. 3a-3b, 150-300 g/c.p./hl) gave good results killing ali insects larvae within 12 days.

In 1982 four stocks of B. thuringiensis were used (B. th. n. 2 = Bactucide ser. 3a-3b; B. th. n. 3 = Baktukal ser. l ; B. th. ser. 3 from Eurygaster austriaca; B. th. n. 5 = Bactucide ser. 3) at 100 and 500 g c.p./hl and two Viruses: a Baculovirus NPV with tetragonal polyedra shaped and the same NPV associated with a CPV, from Yugoslavia.

The Bactucide ser. 3 (500 g/c.p./hl) gave the best results killing ali the larvae in a shorter.time then those treated with B. thuringiensis. The Viruses NPV+CPV gave a better result than NPV used alone.

Durante il 1979 ed il 1982 sono state condotte prove di lotta con microrganismi pato- geni contro i primi stadi !arvali della Thaumetopoea pityocampa in Puglia, nel bosco di Pulicchie.

Nel 1979 fu utilizzato il Thuricide HP (Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki sierotipo 3a-3b) alle dosi di 150 e 300 g/hl, ottenendo la morte di tutte le larve in 12 giorni.

Nel 1982 si utilizzarono quattro ceppi di Bacillus thuringiensis (Bactucide sierotipo 3a-3b, Baktukal sierotipo l, Bacillus thuringiensis sierotipo 3, Bactucide sierotipo 3), alle dosi di 100 e 500 g p.c./hl e due Virus della poliedrosi nucleare e citoplasmatica (Baculovirus VPN con poliedri tetragonali e VPN a poliedri tetragonali assieme ad un Virus della poliedrosi citoplasmatica).

Il Bactucide sierotipo 3 alla dose di 500 g p.c./hl risultò il migliore uccidendo le larve del fitofago in tempo più breve rispetto agli altri ceppi di B. thuringiensis.

Tra i Virus, il VPN associato al VPC ebbe una efficacia migliore rispetto al VPN uti- lizzato da solo.
