L'IRIDOMYRMEX HUMILIS MAYR UN TEMIBILE NEMICO DELL'APHYTIS MELINUS DE BACH.

Abstract

L'A. riferisce su osservazioni eseguite in un limoneto di Furci Siculo (Messina) durante il 1968-69 nei riguardi dell'Iridomyrmex humilis Mayr e dell'Aphytis melinus De Bach.

Rilevata la nefasta azione della Formica argentina verso l'Aphytis melinus, ectoparassita dell'Aonidiella aurantii Mask., l'Autore riporta i risultati delle prove di lotta chimica effettuate durante il 1969 contro l'I. humilis con prodotti a base di lindano allo 0,5% di p. a., e riferisce, ancora, sulle oscillazioni che subisce la popolazione di Aphytis melinus in funzione della presenza o meno deìla Formica argentina.

The A. refers bis observations excuted in an orchard citrus in Furci Siculo (Messina) during 1968-69 on the Iridomyrmex humils Mayr and the Aphytis melinus De Bach.

Pointed out the inauspicious action of the Argentine ant towards the Aphytis melinus, ectoparasites of the Aonidiella aurantii Mask., the A. reports the results of the proves of the chemical treatments excuted during 1969 against the I. humilis with lindane at 0,5 per cent and refers, besides, the variations that the Aphytis melinus undergoes with the presence or not of the Argentine ant in an orchard citrus treated chimically against I. humilis.
